Day 2 - October 26th

Boat river cruise from Porto to Peso da Régua, breakfast and lunch will be offered during the cruise.

A 7 hour cruise passing through bridges, hills, vineyards, nature, villages and more. 

Arrival of Peso da Régua at around 15.30 hours

We will be staying in the 4* Hotel Régua Douro

In Régua, we will visit the Douro Museum, wherein we will explore the history of the Port wine and the Douro region.

Day 3 - October 27th

A morning workshop will be delivered by Madeleine Kerkhof, "Using CO2 extracts in Aromatherapy".

After lunch we will visit a family winery that will end with some wines and Port tasting.

In the late afternoon we will meditate in one of the most beautiful viewpoint of the Douro, the viewpoint and church of S. Leonardo da Galafura, a place describes by the Portuguese writer Miguel Torga as: "It is not a panorama that the eyes contemplate: it is an excess of nature".

Day 4 - October 28th

Free morning to sleep in and relax.

Late morning we will get to know Casal dos Loivos, a spectacular viewpoint. There, we will visit a particular family winery where we will taste several kinds of olive oil, local honey and wines and Port. Their rosé wine is known as being dangerously addictive. The wines from this winery cannot be found anywhere else than on their farm.

After lunch we will discover and explore another facet of the Douro River. We will navigate from Pinhão to and through the Tua river in a traditional "Rebelo" boat, a boat where in the past the wine was transported from this region to Porto and from there, inland and overseas.

Day 5 - October 29th 

The whole morning is dedicated to plants, herbs, concoctions, preparations and everything in between. Vivienne Campbell will guide us through a phyto-aromatic journey during a walk between vineyards and citruses. The walking trail is an easy trail that can accommodate any type of walker.   

Before lunch we will visit a winery farm near Peso da Régua, where we will prepare ourselves for lunch having different Port wine tasting as aperitif to open our senses and get ready for lunch. 

After lunch, we will board the Douro Historical Steam Train, for a 3 hours journey full of history, animation and magnificent views of the Douro river. During the trip you will experience the way the locals travelled seventy years ago, not just traveling by train but also eating petiscos, singing Portuguese songs and of course drinking some wine.

Day 7 - 31of October 

After breakfast we go out of Régua and travel to Vila Real. There, we will visit Casa de Mateus, the magnificent palace, the museum and the luscious gardens with beautiful trees. This house, are associate with the brand of the famous Mateus Rosé wine.  

After lunch we will visit the fantastic Fundação Serralves in Porto city, where we will visit the Sculptural gardens, the Contemporary Art museum and we will do the new Tree Top Walk, a piece of art that gives you a new dimension on how we relate to nature, the trees, ourselves and the world as you will be literally walking on the top of the trees. A mindful aromatic forest treat!

Day 8 - November 1st

On the last day of the retreat we will wake up in Porto and we will be the whole morning at t

After lunch you will have free time free to visit further the city, going for shopping, or just relax .

We will dinner together and will conduct a farewell ritual.

Day 9 - November 2nd

Breakfast, check out. 

Time to return home or continue your holidays.
